The 15th annual Joey Sykes 8th Grade Boys Basketball Tournament was a huge success, both as a fundraiser and a basketball competition. The tournament raised $4,125 for the Bear Necessities Foundation on behalf of Joey Sykes for Neuroblastoma research. We are so proud of our 8th grade gold team and coaches on winning the gold division championship which is the first time since 2009. Special Thanks to…all the teams that participated, including our 8th grade boys teams; the countless volunteers, especially the 7th grade families that hosted this event; the generous businesses that donated raffle items; St. Raymond parish and school for their support; Lincoln Middle School for the use of their wonderful gyms; and the students, past and present, who help keep Joey’s spirit alive.
And, of course, a huge thank you to Debbie, Joe, Jessica and Ashley Sykes for all of their help and inspiration throughout the tournament.
Congrats to Gold Division champion, St. Raymond, who beat St. Hubert in a thrilling championship game.
Congrats to Silver Division champion, St. Alphonsus, which topped St. James for the title.

PACK THE GYM & COME CHEER ON THE SAINTS
On Friday night of the Tournament, both St. Raymond 8th-grade boys teams will play. Let’s “Pack the Gym For Joey” that Friday evening! The Athletic Association encourages all students to come out and pack the gym for this great event as we cheer on our teams, raise funds to fight pediatric cancer and celebrate the spirit of Joey Sykes
We are in need of volunteers for this important event. On Thursday and Friday nights, there will be three gyms used for games. On Saturday, there will be 11 games at St. Raymond. We need your help!
